MEN'S ICE HOCKEY EDGES COLBY, 4-3

BOSTON, MA - The University of Massachusetts Boston men's ice hockey team scored four of the game's first five goals and hung on to defeat visiting Colby College today, 4-3, in an Eastern College Athletic Conference East/New England Small College Athletic Conference contest at the Clark Athletic Center rink on the campus of UMass Boston. The Beacons win their first game of the season to improve to 1-1-0 overall and 1-1-0 in league play for their best record after the first two games of the season since 2000-01 when they also opened at 1-1-0. The victory is also the first over the Mules since a 5-2 victory on February 20, 1999 to snap a 10-game losing streak. Colby falls to 0-2-0 and 0-2-0 on the year. (MORE)
