UMass Boston Swimming Pool The UMass Boston swimming pool is located on the lower level of the Clark Athletic Center. For general information, call 617-287-7820 or 617-287-6788. Memberships: Community membership - Community memberships are available to the Clark Athletic Center which includes use of the swimming pool, gymnasium, outdoor track, and ice rink. For membership information, please click here. Student, faculty, staff or alumni memberships - UMass Boston students, faculty, staff and alumni must acquire memberships to the Beacon Fitness Center and bring their identification card with the appropriate sticker to the swimming pool for access. Swimming Lessons: We are now accepting applications for swimming lessons to begin in February 2010. Please download and complete this form and bring it to the swimming pool, or call 617-287-6788. Hours subject to change. The hours posted indicate when the pool is available to members for lap swimming and free swim. The items listed below the posted hours indicate what other events or groups will be using the pool during lap and open swim time and will take place in a designated portion of the pool.
Inclement Weather Policy The swimming pool will close in accordance with University closings due to inclement weather, especially applicable during the winter months. University wide closings will be announced at www.umb.edu. The swimming pool will also close for a certain period when lightning is in the area. Depending on the nature of the storm, the closing could be of varied length and each incident is taken case by case. Please note: There may be times when the pool will close due to mechanical problems or situations beyond our control. Every effort will be made to alert the patrons in a timely manner.
