8th Annual Beacon Dash 5K Walk/Run/Wheel About the Race: All inclusive community event promoting health and fitness. The primary purpose of the Beacon Dash is to provide an activity that can be enjoyed by students, faculty, staff and alumni while promoting health and fitness. The race is also used as a fundraiser to provide support for the UMass Boston Early Learning Center. Our 5k is also used to promote UMass Boston to the local community. We attract residences from Boston and the surrounding communities to the UMass Boston campus and experience an event that highlights the location on Boston Harbor. Entry Fee: $17 Pre-race registration postmarked on or before April 4th UMass Boston student rate $10 on or before March 28. Students must register at the Beacon Fitness Center and present a student I.D. with a "Spring 2009" verfication sticker. $20 for all participants after April 4th Helpfull Race links below: For general information regarding free race day kids activity during the race- click here Event Date and Time: Sunday, April 11, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. Rain or Shine Location: Clark Center at the University of Massachusetts at Boston. 100 Morrissey Boulevard, Boston Ma 02125-3393 Directions to the event: From North of Boston and Interstate 90: Take 93 South to exit 15, Columbia Rd. Turn left off of the exit and follow the signs to UMass Boston. Follow the signs for parking at the North Lot. Clark Athletic Center is on the opposite end of the Track. From South of Boston: Take 93 North to exit 14, Morrissey Blvd. Stay to the right off of the exit. Take the first right into UMass Boston. Follow the signs for parking at the North Lot, Clark Athletic Center is on the opposite end of the Track.
