Katie O’Sullivan, ATC, LAT is now in her third year as the assistant athletic trainer at the University of Massachusetts Boston. O’Sullivan serves as the primary contact for player rehabilitation, acute care, and game day coverage for UMass Boston’s 18 varsity programs.
Since arriving at UMass in October of 2010, O’Sullivan has helped establish new protocols for the department as well as conduct research which has paved the way for facility upgrades including a brand new gym floor in the Clark Athletic Center.
No stranger to the Division III world, O’Sullivan served as the Assistant Athletic Trainer at Simmons College before making the jump to the harbor campus. Prior to her arrival at Simmons she served as an Athletic Training Co-Op Student at Division I Harvard University.
Known throughout the athletic training world as a tireless worker, O’Sullivan has also worked with the Cape Cod Baseball League, which is regarded as one of the top professional prospect leagues in the country. She has also worked as a Physical Therapy Aide at Sports Center Physical Therapy in Falmouth, Massachusetts.
O’Sullivan graduated from Northeastern University in 2009 with a bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training. In her senior year she served as a presenter for the Northeastern University Research and Scholarship Expo. O’Sullivan currently holds multiple athletic training certifications from both the state of Massachusetts and from the national organization.
