Consandria Walker joins the UMass Boston coaching staff after a stellar four-year collegiate career competing for the Northeastern University track & field program, ranking third all-time in the triple jump with a leap of 41'5.
As a four-year student-athlete for NEU from 2006-10, Walker set a precedent right from her first race as a rookie, in which she won the 55-meter dash (7.27) at her home track of the Reggie Lewis Center. Four years later, Walker qualified for her first NCAA Championship as a senior tri-captain. In early June 2010, Walker was showcased at the highest level of intercollegiate track & field and placed 46th, overall, in the triple jump with a mark of 11.58m (38'0).
Walker brings with her to the coaching ranks the innate ability to compete at the highest level, toting 57 top-three finishes in a combined effort in the 55-, 60-, 100-, 200-meter dashes, 4 x 100-meter relay, long jump and triple jump. The NEU graduate was known for her leaping abilities as she racked up 10 long jump and seven triple jump titles in her four years.
Along with her first NCAA Championship appearance in the triple jump last spring, Walker was a member of the Huskies' first-ever 4 x 100-meter Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) champion relay squad (47.45). She also finished third in the triple jump (11.84m) at last year's conference championship. In 2007-08, she earned second in the triple jump (40'9) and as a freshman, she picked up third in the same event (39'4) at the CAAs. At the New England Championship, Walker won the indoor long jump championship (18'6.5) in 2009 along with the outdoor 4 x 100-meter relay title (46.44). Last season at the New England Championship, Walker finished third in the 55-meter dash (7.09). In 2007-08, she captured second in the long jump (18'4.25) before a third-place performance in the long jump (18'7.75) as a rookie.
At Hackensack High School in Hackensack, NJ, Walker captained the track team for two years and was recognized with All-County, All-League, All-State and All-American honors.
Originally from Montego Bay, Jamaica, Walker graduated from Northeastern in 2010 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Services and currently resides in Quincy, MA.
