CAESAR LEADS UMASS BOSTON INDOOR TRACK & FIELD AT REEBOK BOSTON GAMES

BOSTON, MA - Freshman Toren Caesar (Roslindale, MA) finished 10th in the 800 meters and second among Division III competitors tonight to lead the University of Massachusetts Boston men's and women's indoor track and field teams at the Reebok Boston Games hosted by Northeastern University at the Reggie Lewis Center in Boston.
Caesar turned in a personal-best time of 1:58.69 in the 800 meters, while junior Michael Murphy (Worcester, MA) posted a personal-best time of 2:02.22 to place 18th. Freshman Benajah Potter (Arlington, MA) finished 24th with a mark of 2:05.59.
Senior Emile Pierre-Louis (Arcahaie, Haiti) clocked in at 6.83 in the 55 meter preliminaries to finish 21st and placed 24th in the 200 meters with a mark of 23.74. Sophomore Patrick Day (Quincy, MA) came in 33rd with a time of 4:51.70 in the mile run, while sophomore Craig Myers (Weymouth, MA) turned in a time of 4:56.65 to place 35th. Junior David York (Andover, MA) led the Beacons in the field events with a heave of 11.30 meters in the shot put to place 16th.
Senior Glenny Casado (Methuen, MA) ran a time of 7.91 in the 55 meter preliminaries for a 30th-place showing to lead the UMass Boston women, while senior Jennifer Wong (Fremont, CA) placed 35th with a mark of 8.23. Casado finished 42nd in the 200 meters with a time of 29.04 and Wong took 25th place in the 55-meter hurdles with a mark of 9.85. Junior Joy Risko (Bristol, RI) placed 27th with a time of 1:28.41 in the 500 meters.
The Beacons will be in action again on Saturday, February 7 at the Smith College Tartan Invitational.
