BOSTON, Mass. – This Saturday the men’s and women’s track and field teams are looking to continue their impressive season by bringing home some gold at the 2012 Little East Conference Indoor Championship meet which is hosted by the University of Southern Maine.

Also competing in the sprint events at Saturday’s championship will be Henry Morales (Chelsea, Mass.).  The junior is set to compete in the 55, 200, and 400 meter dashes.  He will also take part in the 55 meter dash as well as the long jump.  This season Morales has claimed two program records, one of which was in the long jump with a final mark of 22-02.50 feet.

Norbert Simon (Chelsea, Mass.) is scheduled to compete in both the 55 and 200 meter dashes, while Brandon Couloute (Shelton, Mass.) will make his first Little East Conference championship appearance in the 400 meter dash.

Joining Morales and Hart in the long jump will be Simon and Abdul on the men’s team and Fatima Konteh on the women’s team.  The triple jump will feature Nasso, who jumped his was to record mark last Saturday at the Tufts University Stampede Invite (44-10.25), and Abdul who closed out the year with a final mark of 38-09.50 feet.

The throwing events will feature just the women’s team with newcomers Chrissy Soares-Fernandes (Brockton, Mass.) and Nicole Aube (Westfield, Mass.) leading the way in the shot put.  In the weight throw it will be Anitra Kloczewiak (Newton, Mass.) and Kaity Merrikin (East Bridgewater, Mass.) looking to earn top-marks.
