NORTH DARTMOUTH, MA - Junior Michael Spinnato (Westwood, MA) and freshman Heather Lucas led the University of Massachusetts Boston men's and women's cross country teams today at the 2010 UMass Dartmouth Invitational in North Dartmouth, MA.
Spinnato paced the UMass Boston men with a 161st-place finish clocking in at 28:40 to lead the Beacons' men's squad. Eric Macknight dominated the field as the top overall finisher in the eight-kilometer run for Keene State with a time of 24:40 to help lead the Owls to the men's team victory with 73 points.
Lucas was the top finisher for the Beacons' women, coming in at 21:31 in the five-kilometer run, finishing 177th overall. Paige Mills of Keene State took the top spot on the women's side with a mark of 17:34 to help lead the Owls to a first place finish with 41 total points.
Senior Mitchell Haley (Dorchester, MA) registered a solid time of 30:19 to capture 211th place to round out the Beacon field in the varsity races.
UMass Boston will run again on Saturday, September 25 when the squads compete in the 43rd Annual Codfish Bowl at 10:00 AM in Franklin Park in Boston, MA.
