BOSTON, MA - Freshman Heather Lucas (Milford, MA) led the University of Massachusetts Boston men's and women's cross country teams today at the 6th Annual Saint Invitational race at Franklin Park in Boston, MA.

Lucas was the top finisher for the Beacons' women, coming in at 20:44 in the five-kilometer run, finishing 7th overall. Charlotte Margel of Babson took the top spot on the women's side with a mark of 19:48. Lesley College won the women's race with 38 total points.

Sophomore Tunisia Mambala (Los Angeles, CA) clocked in a time of 27:59 for a 139th place finish while junior Michelle Gildea (Dorcester, MA) was not far behind, finishing in 140th place overall at 28:00.

Sophomore Ming Wang (Ying Kou, China) paced the UMass Boston men with an 84th place finish clocking in at 32:49 to lead the Beacons' men's squad. Alex Gomes of Salem State set a new meet record as the top overall finisher in the eight-kilometer run with a time of 25:59. Johnson & Wales University won the men's team event finishing with 40 total points.

Sophomore Christopher Chapman (Brockton, MA) finished in 105th place with a time of 34:57 while sophomore Henry Morales (Chelsea, MA) clocked in at 36:56 for a 122nd place finish.

UMass Boston will run again on Saturday, October 30 at the LEC Championship/New England Alliance meet.
