CUMBERLAND, ME - Freshman Robin Rader (Duxbury, MA) finished 204th overall with a time of 26:23.7 in the six-kilometer race to lead the University of Massachusetts Boston women's cross country team today at the 2009 NCAA Division III Men's and Women's New England Regional Cross Country Championships hosted by University of Southern Maine at Twin Brooks in Cumberland, ME.

Rader led the Beacons to a 44th-place team finish among the women. Jacqui Wentz finished first overall with a mark of 21:35.7 to pace MIT to a share of the overall team title with Middlebury College. Each school totaled 63 points.

Freshman Jacqui Brown (Lowell, MA) was 25 seconds behind Rader at 26:48.5 to finish 220th, while senior Joy Risko (Bristol, RI) placed 272nd with a time of 28:06.7. Sophomore Cherie Lavin (Falmouth, MA) clocked in at 30:20.9 to cross the finish at 303rd, while senior Oanh Nguyen (Brighton, MA) rounded out the scoring for UMass Boston with a time of 35:00.3 to place 311th.

Freshman Igal Bubar (Newton, MA) paced the Beacons' men with a time of 30:17.8 to finish 245th as part of UMass Boston's 48th-place showing. Edgar Kosgey of Williams College won the eight kilometer race for the third consecutive year with a time of 25:16.2 to best his time from a year ago by 36 seconds and lead the Ephs to the team title with 53 points.

Freshman Devin Cannon (Mashpee, MA) crossed the finish with a time of 31:14.8 to finish 272nd, while sophomore Francisco Reyes (Lynn, MA) registered a time of 32:25.0 to place 290th. Junior Carlos Sanchez (Springfield, MA) scored for the UMass Boston with a 312th-place showing on a time of 35:19.4, while junior Alex Hoang (Boston, MA) came in at 46:14.3 to finish 323rd.
