Fowler Named D3Baseball.com Honorable Mention All-American

BOSTON, Mass. – With just over 24 hours remaining before the start of the 2017 College World Series, junior first baseman Chris Fowler (Barnstable, Mass.) added another honor to his growing resume as he was named a D3Baseball.com Honorable Mention All-American.

The Barnstable native, who is having a career season with the Beacons, became the first player since the 2011 season to earn an All-American honor.  The now three-time New England All-Region recipient, Fowler goes into the college championship tournament hitting .366, and leads the Beacons with a combined 63 hits and six home runs.  He also boasts 12 doubles and four triples.

His slugging percentage of .587 and his 101 total bases are both tops on the Beacons squad, while his .476 on-base percentage has him sitting second overall.

The program record holder for hits in a consecutive game with 38, Fowler and the Beacons will look to earn their first-ever win in the College World Series tomorrow evening when they take on North Central College (IL) at 5:30 p.m. EST.
