Baseball Ends Season Ranked 4th/5th on Final National Polls

BOSTON, Mass. – After a record setting season, which included the program's second-ever Little East Conference and NCAA New England Regional title, baseball ended the year ranked 4th on the D3Baseball.com and 5th on the ABCA/Collegiate Baseball national polls.

The top-5 national ranking marked a first for Beacons baseball, who finished sixth in the 2017 College World Series.  This season, the Beacons dominated New England baseball as they knocked-off opponent-after-opponent to earn a program best 38 victories.  After securing their second conference title, the Beacons ran the table in the NCAA New England Regional defeating Penn State Berks, Babson College twice, and Suffolk University.  They would then eliminate Wheaton College (MA) in the World Series with a 3-2 win on the second day of the national championship tournament.

Head coach Brendan Eygabroat was named the D3Baseball.com New England Region Coach of the Year, while junior first baseman Chris Fowler (Barnstable, Mass.) was named an Honorable Mention All-American.  In total, the Beacons earned seven All-Region honors.  Seniors Matt Tulley (Lowell, Mass.) and Dan Mantoni (Northbridge, Mass.) were named to the NEIBA Senior All-Star game roster, with Tulley earning Pitcher of the Game honors.
