BOSTON, Mass. – It has been quite the week for senior Chris Fowler (Barnstable, Mass.) who is becoming the most decorated player in Beacons baseball history, as the first baseman earned ABCA Second Team All-America honors.
The ABCA All-American honor marks the first in the career of Fowler, who earlier this week became the program's first three-time D3Baseball.com All-American selection. A two-time NEIBA All-Region honoree, and 2018 Little East Tournament MVP, Fowler closed out his senior season as the leader in nearly offensive category.
A member of the most successful senior class in program history, Fowler has won more hardware in his three seasons at UMB than any other player before. A two-time Little East regular season and tournament champion, Fowler lifted the Beacons to their second NCAA Regional title in 2017. This season, the Beacons advanced to the championship game of the New England Regional, as UMB looked to become just the third team in UMB history to win back-to-back major NCAA titles.
During his three seasons on the harbor campus, Fowler and the Beacons recorded three straight 30+ win seasons, including a program record 38 in 2017. This season, the Barnstable native set the program record for doubles in a single campaign with 22.
