Chenault Terry joins the UMass Boston coaching staff for his third season after spending six years as an assistant coach for the Curry College men's basketball team.
A 1984 graduate and standout basketball player for Don Bosco Tech, his high school squads won state championships in 1982 and 1983. Terry earned Second Team All-State honors in 1983 and First Team All-State honors in 1984.
Terry attended Howard University for one year (1984-1985), played forward for the Bison basketball squad, and made the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference All-Rookie Team. After taking a year off from school, he transferred to Santa Barbara City College (SBCC) in California. Terry played one season of basketball at SBCC and earned an Associate's degree in liberal arts in 1987. He then went on to Northeastern University, joining the Huskies' men's basketball team for his final two years before earning a B.S. in communications in 1990.
The former post player returned to his high school alma mater in 1995 and spent two seasons as an assistant basketball coach.
Terry serves as the Community Affairs/Summer Camps Coordinator for the Department of Athletics, Recreation, Special Projects and Programs here at UMass Boston
