Bendel Named ECAC East Goalie of the Week

CENTERVILLE, Mass. – After earning probably the biggest win of his collegiate career, senior goalie Kevin Bendel (Denville, N.J.) was named the ECAC East Goalie of the Week as announced by the conference office.

Bendel, who was key in the Beacons 2-1 win over #1 Norwich University totaled 39 saves in, last Saturday's shocker.  The senior was sensational for all 60 minutes recording huge save after huge save.  With Saturday's win, Bendel improved his season record to 4-4-0.  The lone goal allowed in the contest came with 55 seconds left in the third period, when the Cadets added an extra-attacker.

Saturday's win marked the program's first victory over a top-5 team, and was also the first win over the Cadets in the Clark Athletic Center since the 1989-90 season.

Earning a spot on the Honor Roll was sophomore Travis Daniel (North Brunswick, N.J.) who also had a strong weekend for the Beacons.  In the 3-1 win over St. Michael's College on Friday, Daniel assisted the third goal of the night.  On Saturday, he assisted the Beacons first goal of the game, and then scored the game-winner on the power-play just three minutes later.

Men's hockey returns to the ice on Friday when they travel to New England College for a 7:30 p.m. ECAC East conference game.
