CENTERVILLE, Mass.—Freshman Peter MacIntyre (Norfolk, Mass.) has been named the ECAC East Conference Player of the Week, the league office announced Monday.
The award is the fourth weekly honor of the season for the highly-decorated left-winger and first Player of the Week award. He joins Mike DeGrazia (Novi, Mich.) as the only Beacons to be named the ECAC East Player of the Week this season.
MacIntyre scored four goals and added an assist on the weekend, to help the Beacons to a 2-0 week. The freshman forward scored both game-winning goals and recorded two goals in each game for his third and fourth career multiple-goal games.
Friday night he finished with two goals and an assist in a 6-4 win over Skidmore College. Saturday afternoon he was even better, accounting for all the UMB scoring in the first 12 minutes, to help UMass Boston capture their first win at Castleton State since 2005 in a 2-1 win.
The former Boston Bandit forward leads the Beacons with 16 goals on the season and is third on the team with 27 points in 21 contests. He currently ranks second in the nation amongst all freshmen with 1.29 points per game, behind only Adrian College's Shaquille Merasty (1.43 ppg).
