CENTERVILLE, Mass.—Zach Andrews (Coral Springs, Fla.) has been named the ECAC East Men's Hockey Goalie of the Week for the second time in his career, after leading UMass Boston to the Manchester P.A.L./Stovepipe Classic Championship, the league office announced Monday afternoon.
Andrews backstopped the Beacons to their second consecutive Stovepipe Classic Title by making 62 saves on 65 shots. The sophomore goaltender posted 31 stops in both wins and registered a 1.50 goals against average and .953 save percentage on the weekend.
He has excelled during the Beacons' current five-game unbeaten streak, recording 29 or more saves in four of five contests and a 2.60 goals against average. On the year, Andrews is 4-1-2 with a 2.38 goals against average and .919 save percentage.
Andrews and the #17 Beacons will return to ECAC East play this weekend when they take on the University of New England (Friday at 7pm) and the University of Southern Maine (Saturday at 4pm).
