No. 15 Men’s Ice Hockey Makes Citi Frozen Fenway Debut Tomorrow

BOSTON, Mass. - In less than 24 hours the 15th ranked Beacons will make history when they take on Salem State University as part of the 2014 Citi Frozen Fenway, with the puck scheduled to drop at 4 p.m. sharp from one of the most historic parks on the planet.

The Beacons, enter Tuesday's contest riding a 10 -game unbeaten streak, which is the second longest active streak in Division III men's ice hockey to date.  Over the weekend the Beacons defeated Suffolk University and Southern New Hampshire University by a combined 16 goals to earn their second straight Codfish Bowl title, which was a program first.  Earlier today the Beacons were scheduled to practice at Fenway Park, but that was called off due to rain, instead the Beacons enjoyed a day at the park, which included sliding on the new Fenway Park Monster Slide.

Tuesday's meeting will be the first between the Beacons and Vikings since 2009. Since their first meeting back in 1982 the Vikings have defeated UMass Boston a combined 32 times.  UMass has earned 10 victories in the all-time series, with their last win coming in 1999 when they earned a 5-2 decision.  The two teams also share one draw.

Tomorrow' game will have live stats and a free webcast courtesy of UMass Boston athletics.
