CENTERVILLE, Mass.—Reigning ECAC East Rookie of the Year Peter MacIntyre added a pair of awards to his trophy case earlier this week, after being named the ECAC East Player of the Week and the New England Hockey Journal Division III Player of the Week.
Fellow sophomore Zach Andrews (Coral Springs, Fla.) was named to the ECAC East Honor Roll this week after the pair led UMass Boston to their second-straight Codfish Bowl Tournament Title over the weekend.
MacIntyre scored two goals in both games for UMass Boston to earn his second Most Valuable Player Award at a tournament this year and second ECAC East Player of the Week honors of his career. Through 13 games this season, he stands tied for second in Division III with 14 goals and second with his 25 total points.
Andrews stopped 35 of 38 shots in wins over Suffolk University and Southern New Hampshire University to help UMB earn their first ever back-to-back Codfish Bowl Titles. The sophomore goalie has won eight straight games and stands amongst the top 20 goalies in the nation with his 2.00 goals against average and .929 save percentage.
The pair were a huge part of Tuesday night's 4-2 victory over Salem State University at Fenway Park. MacIntyre scored two goals including the game-winner in the third period, while Andrews stopped a season-high 34 shots, including 15 in the first period.
