PAWTUCKET, R.I. – After leading the Beacons to a 3-0 week, three players earned Little East Conference weekly honors. Clay Arnold (Syracuse, N.Y.) was named Player of the Week, Conor Lenfest (Waltham, Mass.) was named Rookie of the Week, and Jacob Sinclair-Steeves (North Reading, Mass.) was named the Defensive Player of the Week.
Last week, the Beacons outscored their three opponents an impressive 60-24. The Beacons registered a pair of 20+ goal wins, while closing out the week with a dramatic seven-goal comeback at Rivier University.
For Arnold, his week consisted of seven goals and five assists for 12 points. He also had a game-winner and three man-up goals. He also tallied eight ground balls in the huge week for UMB. To start the week, Arnold collected two goals and four assists in the 24-5 win over Becker. He then added three more goals in the one-sided win over Regis, before closing out the week with a three point (2g, 1a) showing in the 14-10 win at Rivier.
Lenfest continued his strong freshman season notching eight goals and four assists. He also had seven ground balls and a pair of man-up tallies. Lenfest also had a big game against Becker, as he netted four goals to go along with one assist. Against Regis, he would notch one goal, a man-up tally, and finished with two ground balls. To close out the week, Lenfest had a huge day finishing with three goals and three assists. He also collected three ground balls.
As the Beacons top face-off man, Sinclair-Steeves registered an impressive 24 ground balls and 57 face-off wins. After posting just one ground ball and 15 face-off wins against Becker, Sinclair-Steeves erupted for 20 face-off wins and a career-high 14 ground balls. He then closed out the big week for UMB with a 22-for-25 showing on the face-off dot and had nine ground balls.
