Rick Peterson became the seventh Head Men's Lacrosse Coach in UMass Boston history last year and returns for his second season with the Beacons. The Massachusetts native has been very successful in the coaching arena, Prior to his appointment as Marshfield's Head Coach, he established the Freshman Program in 2005 and led the squad to a 21-1 mark, before directing the Junior Varsity team to a 19-1 record the next season. Peterson has been extremely active in the Massachusetts lacrosse community, having been the Head Coach of the Eastern Massachusetts Junior Minutemen in the U-19 league and leading the Massachusetts AAU unit to a Silver Medal in the AAU Junior Olympics in 2006. Before making his mark on the coaching scene, Peterson was a four-year standout at Babson College and graduated from the school in 1983 with a bachelor of science degree in business administration, marketing and communications. Throughout his career, he has been actively involved in building teams and leading successful organizations. Peterson currently resides in Scituate, MA with his wife Susan and daughter Lindsay. |
