BOYLE NAMED LITTLE EAST CONFERENCE MEN'S LACROSSE DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

NORTH DARTMOUTH, MA - University of Massachusetts Boston men's lacrosse player Tim Boyle (Dorchester, MA) has been named Little East Conference Men's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week for his play during the week of March 15-21, it was announced today by the conference.

Boyle led the Beacons' defensive effort on field in their only game of the week with a team-high seven ground balls. The midfielder also helped the defense limit Mount Saint Mary College to just one goal in the first and fourth quarters, respectively, in UMass Boston's 13-7 victory on March 20.

A graduate of Boston's Latin Academy, Boyle ranks fourth on the squad with 10 ground balls in three games this season and has committed just one penalty.

The senior is playing in his fourth campaign for the Beacons and has seen action in 32 contests, while recording seven points on four goals and three assists to go with 41 ground balls in his career.

UMass Boston is currently 1-2 on the season and will be in action again on Saturday, March 27 when it travels to Worcester, MA for a 1:00 p.m. match with Clark University.
