GOSTANIAN NAMED LITTLE EAST CONFERENCE MEN'S LACROSSE ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

NORTH DARTMOUTH, MA - University of Massachusetts Boston men's lacrosse player Jake Gostanian (Andover, MA) has been named Little East Conference Men's Lacrosse Rookie of the Week for his play during the week of March 22-28, it was announced today by the conference. The honor marks the second straight week that Gostanian has been recognized by the conference after being named the LEC Goalie of the Week for the week of March 15-21.
The freshman turned away 10 shots in the Beacons' only game of the week. He also picked up a ground ball in the team's match at Clark University on March 27.
The Andover high school product has been impressive in his first collegiate campaign in net for the Beacons. He currently ranks third in the league with 11.75 saves with 48 in four contests, while owning a .534 save percentage. Gostanian has also posted a 10.25 goals against average in 240 minutes of action and has made at least seven saves in every game this year, including a season-high of 20, while allowing just six goals to Curry College on March 6.
UMass Boston is currently 1-3 on the season and will be in action again on Wednesday, March 31 when it travels to play Emerson College at 6:00 p.m.
