NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass. – The Little East Conference has announced the 2012 All-Conference First and Second Teams and this year's major Award Winners. Earning a spot on the First Team was sophomore midfielder Douglas Silveira (Revere, Mass.). Silviera becomes the ninth player under head coach Myles Berry to earn a spot on the First Team.
In 2012, Silviera put together one of the most impressive sophomore campaigns in the programs history. Having started in all 17 games for the Beacons, the Revere native closed out the fall season as the team-leader in all three offensive categories, having netted four goals, while also assisting on six others for a combined 14 points.
In the Little East Silviera sat fourth overall in assists and seventh in points at the end of the regular season. During the year, he posted three straight games with one goal, starting with the 2-1 loss at Husson University. He then recorded the game-winning tally against Maine Maritime to earn the New Balance Challenge Cup Tournament Most Outstanding Player. His third tally, also a game-winner came in the 4-2 win over Fitchburg State University on September 13.
His final goal of the 2012 season was recorded on October 23 in the 2-1 win over Massachusetts Maritime Academy. It was also in that match that he would notch his second assist in three games as well. In regular season finale, Silviera earned his final point in the heartbreaking loss to Plymouth State University.
