NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass. - Junior forward Marcus Pizzetti (Malden, Mass.) and sophomore goalkeeper Alfonso Rosales (Revere, Mass.) have each been honored by the Little East Conference as this week's Offensive Player of the Week and Goalkeeper of the Week respectively.
The honor for Pizzetti marks his first of the 2013 season, while Rosales has been named the top goalkeeper in the Little East earlier this year.
In the Beacons 2-0 week, which included a huge Little East win over Plymouth State University, Pizzetti tallied three goals and two assists for a combined eight points. He netted the game-winner in the victory over the Panthers on Saturday, and also assisted on the first goal of the day in the opening minutes. His deciding tallying was scored with less than 10 minutes to play in the second half. Earlier in the week, Pizzetti handed out one assist, while also finding the back of the net twice in the 4-0 non-conference win over Massachusetts Maritime Academy.
For Rosales, his 2-0 week was highlighted by a combined eight saves to give the Beacons their 10th and 11th wins of the season. The sophomore currently boasts a record of 10-6-1 on the year which moves him into second place for most wins by a goalkeeper in a single season. Against Plymouth State, his four saves led UMB to a 2-1 victory as the Beacons look to earn the final spot in this year's conference tournament. Against Massachusetts Maritime, Rosales made four stops to register his fourth shutout of the campaign.
