CAVALLERO NAMED LITTLE EAST CONFERENCE MEN'S SOCCER DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

NORTH DARTMOUTH, MA - University of Massachusetts Boston men's soccer player Alex Cavallero (Lenox, MA) has been named Little East Conference Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for his play during the week of October 24-30, it was announced today by the conference.
In the final match of his career at UMass Boston, Cavallero went out in style by scoring the game-tying goal against Little East foe Rhode Island College with only 1:42 remaining in regulation. The senior defender helped the Beacons secure the come-from-behind, 2-1 victory over the Anchormen by assisting on the game-winner in the first overtime period.
The Lenox High School product ended his UMass Boston career having played in and started all 67 matches during his tenure with the Beacons to rank 11th all-time for matches played. He's served as the team's captain each of the past two seasons and has been honored by the Little East Conference's All-Scholastic team during both campaigns. He concludes his four-year career with 28 total points on 12 goals and four assists while notching four game-winning goals while competing for UMass Boston.
The Beacons finished the season with a 6-11 overall record, including 3-4 in Little East Conference play. The three conference victories is the most since the 2006 season and UMass Boston wrapped up the 2010 campaign with a 4-3 record at home.
