BOSTON, Mass. – On Saturday, not only will UMass Boston men's tennis be competing for home court advantage in next week's Little East Conference tournament, but they will also be taking time to raise money for the Jimmy Fund as part of their "Hit It To Win It" fundraiser.
Following their match with Bridgewater State University at Boston College High School Tennis Courts, fans will have an opportunity to compete in a tennis skills challenge with the winner walking away with some great prizes. There will also be a 50/50 raffle at Saturday's match, which is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. All tickets are priced at $1 with all the proceeds to be donated to the Jimmy Fund.
The competition should begin at approximately 4:30 p.m., following the conclusion of Saturday's Little East Conference match. All fans are encouraged to come out and not only support this great cause, but also their Beacons as well as they close out their 2012 regular season.
Men's Tennis has had a sensational spring campaign, and just like the women's team in the fall will look to make a serious run in this year's tournament.
Since its founding in 1948, the Jimmy Fund has supported the fight against cancer in children and adults at Boston's Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, helping to raise the chances of survival for cancer patients around the world. For more information about the Jimmy Fund visit http://www.jimmyfund.org.
