MEN'S TENNIS FALLS AT TEXAS LUTHERAN, 9-0

SEGUIN, TX - The Texas Lutheran University men's tennis team scored a 9-0 victory over visiting University of Massachusetts Boston on Saturday at the TLU tennis courts.

The Bulldogs (3-6) did not drop a game in the three doubles matches and did not drop a set in the singles portion. The Beacons fall to 0-2 on the season.

The doubles teams of Travis Conn and Matt Allen (No. 1 doubles), Jonathan Hartwell and Mark Moellering (No. 2 doubles), and David Schneider and Michael Packard (No. 3 doubles) each scored 8-0 wins.

TLU lost a total of 17 games in singles play in the six straight-set wins. Ryan Delcambre and Schneider each collected 6-0, 6-0 wins at No. 5 and No. 6 singles, respectively. Jonathan Hartwell defeated UMass Boston sophomore T. Leng (Phnom Penh, Cambodia), 6-4, 6-2, at number one sinlges and Kevin Haugen downed Beacons' junior Himanshu Dubey (Lucknow, India), 6-3, 6-3, at second singles.

TLU returns to American Southwest Conference play on March 26 with a road match in Belton, Texas against the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor. Match time is set for 2 p.m. UMass Boston will be in action again on Monday, March 15 when it heads to Brownwood, TX to take on Howard Payne University at 2:00 p.m.
