CAMBRIDGE, MA - The Suffolk University men's tennis team defeated visiting University of Massachusetts Boston, 9-0, today at Buckingham, Browne & Nichols in Cambridge, MA. The Rams improve to 5-0, while the Beacons fall to 0-6.
Freshman Ryan Swann (Warren, VT) led UMass Boston, winning six games between singles and doubles play on the evening. The rookie took three games in singles play in a losing effort at third singles to Harlen Strader, 6-1, 6-2. Swann combined with sophomore T. Leng (Phnom Penh, Cambodia) to fall at number one doubles, 8-3.
The Beacons will be in action again on Saturday, April 10 when they travel to Danbury, CT to take on Little East Conference foe Western Connecticut State University for a 1:00 p.m. match.
