MEN'S TENNIS TOPPED BY BRIDGEWATER, 8-1

BRIDGEWATER, MA - The University of Massachusetts Boston men's tennis team dropped an 8-1 decision to Bridgewater State University Saturday afternoon on the BSU campus in Little East Conference action. With the win, the Bears improve to 4-2 overall and 1-0 in the LEC while the Beacons fall to 1-6 and 0-1.

The Beacons were able to pick up an impressive victory in No. 1 singles play as the duo of freshman Seth Shavers (Hyde Park, MA) and Himanshu Dubey (Lucknow, India) teamed up to top David Campbell and Mike Zagame, 8-5.

Shavers and Campbell battled it out in No. 1 singles action as well with Campbell coming out on top, 6-3, 6-3. The other close match in singles play came out of the No. 4 slot as Nicholas Desisto was able to top junior Andrey Boguslavskiy (Volgograd, Russia), 6-4, 6-1.

UMass Boston returns to the court on Wednesday, April 13 for another Little East Conference match-up vs. UMass Dartmouth at 3:00 p.m.
