DANBURY, CT - The Western Connecticut State University men's tennis team dropped just two games in singles action as it went on to defeat visiting University of Massachusetts Boston, 9-0, in a Little East Conference match today in Danbury, CT. The Colonials improve to 6-0 overall, including 2-0 in LEC play, while the Beacons fall to 0-7 and 0-1.
Junior Himanshu Dubey (Lucknow, India) led UMass Boston, winning five games between singles and doubles play for the afternoon. He combined with freshman John Tran Nguyen (Revere, MA) at number two doubles to win four games, but fell to Juan Ocampos and Tyler Brown, 8-4 in pro-set format. Dubey was defeated at second singles by Ocampos (6-1, 6-0.
The Beacons will be in action again on Tuesday, April 13 when they host Johnson & Wales University (RI) at 3:00 p.m.
