QUINCY, MA - University of Massachusetts Boston men's freshman tennis player Rodrigo Fraga (Vitoria, Brazil) defeated teammate Jonathan Ng (Randolph, MA), 6-1, 6-0, to capture the Eastern Nazarene College Invitational Championship today in Quincy, MA. The Beacons also won the team crown for the third straight year.

Fraga's road to the tournament title began with a 6-3, 6-2 win over Juan Rodriguez of Wentworth Institute of Technology. Fraga followed that by not dropping a set in a 6-0, 6-0 semifinals victory over John-David Moyer of Curry College.

Ng also defeated his first two opponents of the day with a 6-2, 6-3 decision over Curry College's Charles Edlund and a 6-2, 6-1 win over Xavier Vazquez Gonzalez of host Eastern Nazarene College.

Sophomore Thong Leng (Phnom Penh, Cambodia) and junior Reinaldo Lopes (Brussels, Belgium) were beaten in the doubles quarterfinals by Eastern Nazarene's tandem of Michael Chan and Tyler Restrick, 6-0, 6-4, but rebounded to defeat Caleb Zipperstein and Thomas Bagley of Curry College, 8-1, in the consolation semifinals before beating UMass Boston freshmen teammates, John Tran Nguyen (Revere, MA) and Ryan Swann (Warren, VT), 8-6, in the consolation finals.

Nguyen and Swann were upended in the quarterfinals in doubles play by Brian Leahy and Kirschner, 6-1, 6-1, but came back to defeat Crooks and Ramey of Eastern Nazarene, 8-5 in the consolation semifinals, before falling T. Leng and Lopes.
