QUINCY, MA - University of Massachusetts Boston men's tennis player Paul Braude (West Yarmouth, MA) defeated teammate Eric Pease (East Falmouth, MA), 6-4, 3-6, 6-3, to capture the Eastern Nazarene College Invitational Championship today in Quincy, MA.

Junior Ali Al-Sabbagh (West Roxbury, MA) and sophomore Reinaldo Lopes (Brussels, Belgium) teamed to defeat Michael Chan and Tyler Restrick of Eastern Nazarene College, 8-6 to take the doubles title.

Braude began his championship run with a 6-2, 6-4 quarterfinals win over Kevin Tran of Wentworth Institute of Technology, before beating Gordon College's Eric Musser, 6-2, 6-0 in the semifinals. Pease made it to the finals with a quarterfinals win over Gary Gaudio of Gordon, 6-3, 6-4, and a triumph in the semifinals over Xavier Gonzales of Eastern Nazarene, 6-1, 6-1.

Al-Sabbagh and Lopes paired to defeat Gordon's team of Michael Larson and Carl Quinion in the doubles quarterfinals, 8-4, before taking down the duo of Joe Centola and Josh Welt from Wentworth, 8-6.

Freshman Dara Chhan (Phnom Penh, Cambodia) and Anh Phi were defeated in their quarterfinals doubles match by Chan and Restrick, 8-1 and were beaten in the consolation semifinals by Josh Cornwall and Dan Hayner of Gordon, 8-6.
