NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass. – After a standout indoor season, freshman high jumper Tylor Hart (Newton, Mass.) was named the first Little East Conference Rookie Field Athlete of the Year in program history as announced by the conference office.
Hart, who currently holds the record in the high jump at UMass Boston, became the first Beacon to ever receive one of the conference's major postseason awards. With his jump of 6-07.00 which recorded on January 8, Hart ended his rookie indoor season ranked in the top-20 in Division III men's track and field.
The Newton native went on to capture the Little East Conference/New England Alliance Championship crown with a jump of 6-06.25 feet. An All-ECAC selection, Hart capped off his first season with the Beacons by placing fifth at the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III Championship with a fifth place finish. Hart was named a two-time LEC Rookie Field Athlete of the Week during the year.
