NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass. – On Monday, the Little East Conference announced that sophomore high jumper Tylor Hart (Newton, Mass.) was named this week's Little East Conference Men's Field Athlete of the Week. From the women's team Renee O'Brien (Stoneham, Mass.) and Hulerie McGuffie (Lynn, Mass.) were named the Little East Conference Track and Rookie Field Athletes of the Week respectively for the first time in their careers.
Hart, earned his second weekly honor of the 2012-13 campaign after setting the program record in the high jump at Saturday's Wheaton College (MA) Invitational. The sophomore from Newton hit a new mark of 6-08.00 feet to move-up into the top-7 in the nation in the event. The record height also earned Hart first place in the event. Later in the day, he also finished eighth in the long jump.
For O'Brien she hit a new personal best and qualified for both the NCAA New England Regional and the ECAC Division III Indoor Championships in the high jump. At the Wheaton Invite, O'Brien cleared a height of 5-02.25 feet to finish second in the event.
McGuffie placed sixth in the long jump with her final leap of 15-07.75 feet to earn a sixth place finish in the event as well as a new personal best.
