BOSTON, Mass. – After a two week hiatus the cross country teams returned to action Saturday afternoon as they competed at the NEICAAA Championship Meet at Franklin Park in Boston.
For the women's team they finished in 43rd place, while the men's squad did not record at the regional championship, which featured teams from Division I, II, and III
Jake Kerin (Quincy, Mass.) led the men's squad with a time of 28:24, while Angelica Pizzi (Milton, Mass.) was the top finisher for the women's team with a time of 21:07.
Also competing in Saturday's meet for the men's team was Ron Esquivel (Guatemala) who finished with a time of 34:17, Emilio Alvarez-Flores (Mexico City, Mexico) who recorded a time of 34:57, and finally Chhenlee Ly (Leominster, Mass.) who crossed the finish line with a time of 35:09.
The next to cross the finish line for the women's team was Ari Leao (New Bedford, Mass.) as the senior runner posted a time of 23:57. From there it was Ashley Glendye (Middleboro, Mass.) with her time of 25:42. Renee O'Brien (Stoneham, Mass.) posted a time of 26:22, followed by Danny Valerie (Leominster, Mass.) with her final time of 27:05.
The Beacons return to action on Friday when they compete in the Emmanuel College Saints Invitational.
