NORTH DARTMOUTH, MA - University of Massachusetts Boston women's basketball player Kendra Mosley (Indian Head, MD) has been named the Little East Conference Rookie of the Week for the week of January 9-15, it was announced today by the conference. This marks the second time on the year that the freshman has been honored by the conference for the award.

Mosley had another great week, averaging 14 points per game over three games to help UMass Boston post a 2-1 week. The freshman from Indian Head, Md. matched the team-high of 19 points in the Beacons' win over Plymouth State, while coming one rebound shy of collecting a double-double with nine boards. On Thursday against Bridgewater State, Mosley helped UMass Boston erase a 19-point deficit with a game-high 20 points and a team-high eight rebounds. Two days later, she collected six rebounds in a loss at nationally ranked Western Connecticut.

Halfway through the 2010-11 campaign, the 5'7" guard has been very consistent for UMass Boston, averaging a team-high 13.9 points per game to go along with 8.0 rebounds per night, ranking second on the squad and sixth in the Little East Conference. She currently leads the conference in steals, averaging 3.2 per game and ranks first on the Beacons and eighth in the LEC with 2.9 assists per contest and has started all seven games of her collegiate career.

UMass Boston is currently 11-4 on the year to match the program's best start since the 1982-83 season. The Beacons have already surpassed the past two seasons' win totals combined and are currently holding opponents to an average of 53.3 points to rank third in the Little East Conference. UMass Boston will be in action again on Tuesday, January 18 when it travels to North Dartmouth, MA for a conference match-up vs. UMass Dartmouth at 5:30 p.m
