MOSLEY NAMED LITTLE EAST CONFERENCE WOMEN'S BASKETBALL ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

NORTH DARTMOUTH, MA - University of Massachusetts Boston women's basketball player Kendra Mosley (Indian Head, MD) has been named the Little East Conference Rookie of the Week for the week of November 22-28, it was announced today by the conference.

The freshman put together the best all-around week of her young collegiate career, averaging a double-double of 18.0 points and 10.0 rebounds, per game to help the Beacons go 2-0 on the week. The native of Indian Head, MD shot 46.4 percent (13-for-28) from the floor, including 38.5 percent (5-for-13) from behind the three-point arc. Mosley connected on five triples en route to scoring a career-high 30 points in the Beacons 74-54 win over New England College on Sunday, November 28. Earlier in the week, she collected a career-best 13 rebounds in UMass Boston's 66-58 victory against Fitchburg State.

In the early goings of the 2010-11 campaign, the 5'7" guard has been very consistent for UMass Boston, averaging 11.8 points per game to rank second on the squad. She leads the team averaging 9.0 rebounds, 3.6 steals and 3.2 assists per contest and has started all five games of her collegiate career.

UMass Boston is currently 4-1 on the year to match the program's best start since the 2002-03 season. The Beacons have already matched last seasons' win total and are currently holding opponents to an average of 48.6 points to rank second in the Little East Conference. UMass Boston will be in action again on Thursday, Dec. 2 when it hosts Wheelock College at 5:30 p.m. in a non-conference match-up.
