WATERVILLE, Me. – With an unassisted goal from Alyssa Sullivan (Medford, Mass.), women's hockey (3-4-2) battled non-conference opponent Colby College (1-2-1) to a 1-1 draw Sunday afternoon at Alfond Rink.
Sullivan's goal which came at the 18:55 mark neutralized an early goal from the Mules. On the day, Colby led the contest with 49 shots, while UMass Boston combined for 32 shots in the 65 minute contest.
Between the pipes Leah Hallett (Rocky Hill, Conn.) combined for 48 saves, which was a season-high for the senior. Her Colby counterpart Brianne Wheeler tallied 38 saves in the draw, which was the first of the year for both players. On the power-play both teams were 0-for-6 on the afternoon.
After tying the score at 1-1, the next two periods would see a flurry of shots, especially in the second as the two squads combined for 27 opportunities respectively. In the third Colby held a 11-5 advantage, while in the overtime the host Mules would manage just two more shots than the Beacons (6-4).
