BOSTON, Mass. – This Saturday the UMass Boston women's and men's ice hockey teams will be raising money in support of Breast Cancer Research and Awareness as part of their annual "Pink the Rink" day. All proceeds from the event will be donated to the Susan G. Komen Fund in hopes of bringing an end to breast cancer.
Throughout Saturday's hockey doubleheader in the Clark Athletic Center Ice Arena, fans will be able to purchase special edition UMB Hockey "Pink the Rink" t-shirts, participate in a variety of raffles, and compete in a chuck-a-puck competition.
Start time for Saturday's women's game is scheduled for 1 p.m., which will then be followed-up by the men's game at 4 p.m. Both teams will be wearing pink laces and using pink tape to show their support for this great cause.
