CENTERVILLE, Mass. – Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) Interim Commissioner Steve Bamford announced the 2013 ECAC East Women's All-Conference selections on Saturday. Earning a spot on the All-Rookie team was freshman goalie Casey Schaejbe (Arlington, Mass.).
Schaejbe became the first Beacon to earn a spot on the All-Rookie team since 2008 and is also the first goalie in program history to earn a spot on the top rookie team.
In her first season with the Beacons, Schaejbe started in 16 of the 25 games played and saw over 916 minutes of ice time. Going into today's conference tournament game at Castleton State she currently sits ninth all-time in saves in a season with 412. Schaejbe closed out the regular season with an 89.8 save percentage and a 3.08 goals against average. She notched a total of four wins this season, with her teammate Kailyn Burke earning the Beacons four other victories.
To date the Arlington native has played in a combined three overtime contests, and recorded a career-best 46 saves in just her third college game in the 2-2 tie with Holy Cross. On the year she recorded a combined six 30+ save games, which included a 30 save showing in the huge 5-3 win over nationally ranked Manhattanville College.
