MARSHFIELD, Mass.—For the first time in her collegiate career, UMass Boston senior netminder Alyssa DePippo (Pittsburgh, Pa.) was named the New England Hockey Conference Goalie of the Week, the league office announced Monday afternoon.
DePippo led the Beacons to their first three-point weekend of the season, by making 45 saves on 48 shots.
The senior netminder opened the weekend by stopping 15 of 16 shots, in a 7-1 conference win over Salem State University on Friday night.
She added a season-high 30 saves on 32 shots on Saturday, to backstop the Beacons to a 2-2 tie against Suffolk University. DePippo came up especially big in overtime, as she made six stopped all six shots she faced.
On the season, DePippo is 2-3-1 in seven appearances and has posted a .915 save percentage and 1.72 goals against average.
The Beacons will return to action on Saturday afternoon, when they host the 12th Annual Codfish Bowl Tournament. UMass Boston will play Wesleyan University at 1 p.m., while Manhattanville College and Bowdoin College will play in the second semifinal at 4 p.m.
