Harris enters her second season as the Head Coach for the Beacons
after serving as the Head Coach at Nichols College. She brings
along an impressive resume as a Division I hockey player as well as
a Level 4 coaching certification by the USA Hockey standards.
Harris served as the Interim Head Coach during the 2010-11 campaign, leading the Beacons to an impressive 14-11-1 mark with only 16 total skaters on her roster. The unit compiled several impressive wins including a 3-1 victory over #10 Manhattanville College for the program's first-ever victory over the ECAC East perennial powerhouse.
From 2004 through 2009, Harris was a member of the Boston College women's ice hockey team that captured three Beanpot Championships, made two NCAA tournament appearances while advancing to the Frozen Four in 2007. She was named the Eagles team captain for the '08-'09 campaign and was also honored that season as BC's Unsung Hero while receiving the team's Outstanding Senior award. On top of those honors, Harris received the Hockey East Sportsmanship Award following her senior season.
Prior to joining the Beacons staff, Harris served as the Nichols College assistant coach during the 2009-10 season before being promoted to her first collegiate head coaching position in May of 2010 for the Bison. She also served as an assistant coach for the women's lacrosse team at Nichols in 2010.
During the summer of 2010, Harris served as an Intern Coach at the U17 USA Hockey Select Camp in Saint Cloud, MN in June as well as the Head Coach for the U14 USA Select Camp in Rochester, NY in July.
Since 2008, Harris has also worked closely with former NHL player Jeff Serowik at Pro Ambitions Hockey, instructing players at summer camps and skill sessions throughout the year.
Harris graduated with a BA in Communications & Marketing and a Masters of Administrative Studies from Boston College in 2009. A native of Buffalo, NY, Harris currently resides in Boston, MA.
