Ledin and Rocha Earn Little East Conference Weekly Honors

NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass. – The Little East Conference executive office has named Emma Rocha (Boynton Beach, Fla.) of volleyball and Krista Ledin (Bridgewater, Mass.) of women's soccer this week's LEC Rookie and Offensive Players of the Week respectively.

For Rocha, her Rookie of the Week honor marks the second of the year for the Florida native.  Last week, the freshman setter posted 89 assists help to the Beacons to a 2-2 record.  She handed out at least 13 assists in every match.  To start off the week, Rocha posted 24 assists to help the Beacons to their fourth straight conference win of the season, with a 3-0 victory over UMass Dartmouth.  Over the weekend, she recorded 30 assists in the 3-2 win over Endicott College.  Against nationally ranked opponents Christopher Newport and Southwestern University (TX), Rocha tallied 35 assists respectively.

For Ledin, Monday's weekly honor is the second of the season for the reigning Little East Conference and ECAC New England Rookie of the Year.  Currently sitting with 88 career points, Ledin is on her way to becoming the second player in program history to record 100 career points.  Last week, the Bridgewater native tallied three goals, two of which were game-winners.  On Thursday she scored twice in the Beacons 3-0 win over Wentworth Institute of Technology.  Two days later, she netted perhaps the biggest goal of the season and in program history as she led UMB to their first regular season win over Eastern Connecticut State University.  That win also moved the Beacons into sole possession of first place in the conference standings, which was also a program first as well.
