Volleyball and Women's Soccer Receive Their NCAA Draws

BOSTON, Mass. - After a dramatic Sunday in which both women's volleyball and women's soccer grabbed Little East Conference titles, each team found out their road to an NCAA Championship Monday.

Women's Volleyball (17-11) will travel to New London, Connecticut to take on intra-state rival MIT (30-5) on Friday at 5:30 p.m. at the Luce Field House. Women's soccer will be on the road as well, as they take the long ride to Ithaca, New York to face off against the Ithaca College Bombers (17-1-2) on Saturday at 11 a.m.

UMass Boston women's volleyball will be making their fourth straight trip to the NCAAs and have accumulated a 6-3 record over the past three years.  On the other side, the Engineers won the NEWMAC Championship Sunday with a 3-0 victory over Wellesley University to earn their first appearance in the NCAA Tournament since 2007. The Beacons hold the edge all-time between the two programs with a 4-3 record.

If the Beacons grab a victory Friday, they'll face off against the winner of Connecticut College and Framingham State, with the regional championship scheduled for Sunday afternoon.

For women's soccer, it's the programs first-ever appearance in the NCAA Tournament. They'll face off against an Ithaca team that is tied for ninth in the country and won the Empire 8 Tournament Sunday in penalty kicks over Nazareth College. Ithaca College will be making their 10th straight trip to the NCAA Tournament.

With a win against the Bombers Saturday, the Beacons would face off against the winner of Bowdoin College and Scranton University Sunday at 1:30 p.m.
