Tayla Andrews Named Little East Conference Offensive Player Of The Week For First Time

NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass.—For the first time in her standout career, UMass Boston senior forward Tayla Andrews (Plymouth, Mass.) has been named the Little East Conference Offensive Player of the Week, the league office announced Monday afternoon.

Andrews recorded seven points over four games, including the game-winning goal on opening day, to help the reigning Little East Conference Champions to a 2-2 start.

The senior forward scored goals in three of the team's first four contests and added a game-winning assist in Sunday's win over regionally-ranked Castleton State College.

She opened the season with the game-winning goal against the University of New England, before potting UMass Boston's lone goal in a 2-1 double overtime loss to #2 Emory University.

Over the weekend, Andrews recorded a goal and an assist against Castleton State, to lift UMB to a 2-1 overtime victory over the host Spartans.

The former Little East Conference Rookie of the Year and First Team All-Conference forward as a junior stands just two points shy of passing former teammate Kristin Mulry ('12) for second-place all-time in career points (115).
