Andrews and Cristoforo Picked to Play in NEWISA Senior Bowl Game

BOSTON, Mass.— Tayla Andrews (Plymouth, Mass.) and Sam Cristoforo (Rockland, Mass.) have been selected to play in the New England Women's Intercollegiate Soccer (NEWISA) Division III Senior Bowl, to be held at Merrimack College on Saturday, December 7 at 1 p.m.

The two seniors join former teammate Samantha Place ('12) as the only Beacons in program history to have been invited to play in the annual NEWISA Senior Bowl game.

In 20 games this fall, Andrews finished second on the Beacons and second in the Little East Conference with 17 goals and 41 points, while finishing fourth in the conference with seven assists. The senior forward ended her career second in program history with 59 goals, 30 assists and 147 points.

Cristoforo wrapped up her career with another solid season in the midfield, totaling a team-high nine assists and 11 total points. The Rockland, Mass. product finished her career first all-time in program history with her 30 assists and fifth overall with her 60 career points.

The two seniors helped UMass Boston to the best four-year stretch in program-history with a record of 61-21-6 (.727). In their final two years, the duo helped UMass Boston earn their first two Little East Conference Regular Season Titles and their first NCAA Tournament appearance in 2012.
