Krista Ledin Named NSCAA National Player of the Week

BOSTON, Mass.—For the second time in her illustrious career, senior forward Krista Ledin (Bridgewater, Mass.) has been named the Disney Soccer/National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Division III National Player of the Week.

Ledin, who became the first player in program history to earn the honor last October, became one of two active players to reach the 200-point milestone in last week's 6-1 win over Wentworth.

For the week, Ledin recorded five goals in two games to help UMass Boston post a 1-1 record.

The Bridgewater, Mass. native went over the 200-point mark with the first of her three goals against the Leopards. Tuesday's hat trick marked the first of the year for Ledin and the 13th of her career.

Saturday she added two more goals in a hard-fought 3-2 loss at Little East Conference leading Western Connecticut State.

Through 75 career games, Ledin holds the UMass Boston and Little East Conference program records for goals (92) and points (205). She needs just two goals and 18 points to move into the top-25 in Division III women's soccer history for each category.

Ledin and the Beacons will travel to take on regionally-ranked Endicott College Tuesday night at 7 p.m.
