UMASS BOSTON'S KUCHAR NAMED LITTLE EAST CONFERENCE WOMEN'S SOCCER ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

NORTH DARTMOUTH, MA - University of Massachusetts Boston women's soccer player Molly Kuchar (Ashville, NC) has been named Little East Conference Women's Soccer Rookie of the Week for her play during the week of September 1-8, it was announced today by the conference office. The season's first weekly award also covers play from any matches prior to September 1.
Kuchar tallied five points on a pair of goals and an assist in four matches for the Beacons to begin her collegiate career. The midfielder earned her first career point with an assist in UMass Boston's season-opener vs. Westfield State College at the Husson College Invitational on August 30 and netted her first collegiate goal the following day on a corner kick vs. University of Québec à Trois-Rivières at 65:39 of the second half. The freshman extended her point-streak to three matches with her second goal of the season coming in a 4-1 victory over Eastern Nazarene College on September 2 to open the Beacons' home slate.
The A.C. Reynolds High School product currently leads UMass Boston in points (five) and goals (two) and ranks second on the squad with an assist. Kuchar also ranks stands prominently among the Little East Conference leaders, ranking third in total points and goals and fourth in assists.
The Beacons are currently 1-3-0 on the season, including a perfect 1-0-0 at home, and will be in action again on Friday, September 12 when they host Saint Joseph College (CT) at 3:30 p.m. at the Clark Athletic Center field.
