MULRY NAMED LITTLE EAST CONFERENCE WOMEN'S SOCCER OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

NORTH DARTMOUTH, MA - University of Massachusetts Boston women's soccer player Kristin Mulry (Holbrook, MA) has been named Little East Conference Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for her play during the week of September 14-20, it was announced today by the conference office.
Mulry racked up nine points in just two matches with four goals and an assist for the Beacons last week. The sophomore netted a pair of goals and added an assist in UMass Boston's 9-0 victory over Wheelock College on September 15 and added two more goals, including the game-winner, in a 3-2 road victory over Little East Conference foe University of Southern Maine on September 19. The forward owned a .444 shot percentage for the week.
For the season, Mulry currently leads the league with 2.40 points per match with 12 points in five matches and is the LEC's top goal scorer with five markers for 1.00 per match. Her total of two assists is also good for fifth-most among conference leaders, while her game-winner is tied for the tops in the league.
A graduate of Hingham High School, Mulry enjoyed a tremendous first year with the Beacons in 2009 as the Little East Conference Rookie of the Year. She broke every freshman offensive school record at UMass Boston, including points (29) and goals (14) and was also named to the LEC All-Star Second Team. In just 26 career matches, Mulry already ranks second on the Beacons' career list for points (41), goals (19), multiple goal matches (6) and game-winning goals (3).
UMass Boston is currently 3-2-0 on the season, including 1-0-0 in Little East Conference play and will be in action again on Tuesday, September 22 when it travels to Fitchburg, MA to take on Fitchburg State College at 7:00 p.m.
